Behind the camera.

Hi, I’m Miao, a photographer from China, now based in Whanganui, New Zealand. I speak Mandarin, English, and Japanese.

Over the past few years, I’ve travelled with a backpack through Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Along the way, New Zealand’s beauty has drawn me back time and again.

Photography is how I notice the world and hold on to how a moment feels. I’m drawn to soft light, subtle expressions, and the natural closeness between people. That’s the same care I hope to bring to your photographs.
